Training women cadre to conduct FNHW PLA meetings for adolescent girls

Poshan Sakhis from Chhattisgarh Rural Livelihoods Mission (BIHAN)  were trained in participatory learning and action (PLA) techniques to facilitate behaviour change in adolescent girls. They were also trained in monitoring and reporting on progress on nutri-specific & sensitive activities.

Bastar district sees Chhattisgarh’s highest levels of wasting (33.9%) in children., and poor maternal nutrition is an underlying factors. To address this, BIHAN is following a life cycle approach and working with adolescent girls, newly-wed women, pregnant mothers and mothers of children under two under the Swabhimaan programme. Women amongst these target groups who are at-nutritional risk, are identified & counselled to ensure better diet diversity and nutrition.
